11:30am-1pm lunch
1- 5pm session IV
proposals considered. There was a lot of time spent in debate on the term ‘compulsive overeater’ vs. ‘compulsive eater’ and how this impacted our voting on literature. The debate slowed progress considerably
voting results: literature proposals A-b through A-f approved. They can be viewed on the OA website under World Service.
Guidelines
5:30-7 dinner out! Authentic new mexican cuisine. Delicious and abstinent!
8pm optional reference sub-committee meeting on proposal B– local literature
And now a note from WSB chair:
“I do not like the word ‘violate’ for the traditions. It is unnecessarily harsh. I prefer to use the term ‘does not observe the traditions’ instead”
we are not a glum lot, day 3
there were many quips, but they weren’t that funny. We might have been called a more ….serious-minded lot today. But wait! There is a late save by the reference committee! At 9:30pm, during a heated debate, the WS vice chair said,
“I haven’t seen this much passion other than at a buffet!”
